Rick and Hammer were in a desperate situation now.
They were in a blind alley. The blind end was the wall of the cliff – it shone like steel, and the other end was blocked by two crazy aliens who were supposedly after their lives.
Yitteroy and Zitteroy were right at the entrance to the alley. Yitteroy was pursuing them just to observe their movements; he was still confused why his twin had actually fired at them. Zitteroy, on the other hand, wanted to arrest them.
Yitteroy and Zitteroy again decided to consult each other.
‘Who asked you to fire at them?’ asked Yitteroy.
‘Finally they can’t get away now’ understood Zitteroy.
‘Yeah… cool’ replied Zitteroy.
‘No one. I was just testing the ulterbubble gun. I hadn’t tried it for a long time’ comprehended Yitteroy
‘Alright… deactivate the ulterbubbles then’ ordered Yitteroy.
‘What do you think? Should we deactivate the ulterbubbles?’ thought Zitteroy.
‘Hmm… I have yet to test their efficiency’ thought-replied Zitteroy.
‘As you say brother’ understood Yitteroy.
And so it was that Yitteroy understood Zitteroy was going to deactivate the ulterbubbles and, Zitteroy understood he was to continue with the testing experiment.
Rick started to look for ways to get out of this tricky situation.
It was the first time that Hammer had actually seen Rick worrying about something.
For the first few seconds Rick was absolutely clueless. After scanning the whole of the area around he realized he was standing on a manhole. He quickly stepped aside and wondered if this could be one of the underground chutes.
He tried to uncover the manhole but it was proving to be too difficult. He thought it hadn’t been opened in a long-long time.
Meanwhile the ulterbubbles had also entered the alley. They were still traveling at a leisurely speed.
Hammer was getting restless that Rick was not able to uncover the manhole.
After much fiddling around with the cover when it did not even budge from its position, Rick felt that his left foot was not evenly balanced on the ground. There was definitely something under it. He lifted his foot off it and there it was - if not anything else it at least looked like a lever.
Without thinking anything he just pulled it, and lo the manhole cover snapped open.
Rick motioned Jupiter to move in.
Hammer looked at the bubbles and then at Rick; was he serious? Anyways… he preferred to jump into the hole.
Rick also looked at the bubbles. They could hit him any time.
With an electric-fast movement he got in… the first ulterbubble missed him by a whisker. As soon as they were in, the manhole cover snapped shut. The ulterbubbles could not get inside and Zitteroy then had to deactivate them.
‘I don’t believe this’ said Zitteroy.
‘Me too…how can they do it?’ replied Yitteroy.
‘They actually jumped into The Great Hall of Bubblegum’ Zitteroy was in a shock.
‘Yeah…’ said Yitteroy still looking at the manhole.
This was the first time since they were born that their thoughts were actually matching, and they had perfectly understood each other.
